Our journey began with a question. In 2013, Marilyn Milavsky asked :
“What do we need to understand about increasing our brain’s capacity to activate our potential over an entire life span, and in particular, over the ageing process?“
Marilyn gathered a small group to study this question and the Human Potential project was launched and began its exploration.
Our exploration led to Marilyn’s development, in 2017, of the Human Potential Model.

The model seeks to inspire individuals to be cognizant of their unlimited human potential. We believe that maximizing individual potential is important to maximize our collective potential.
As the project has evolved, members have turned their focus outward to consider the interdependency of fully realized human potential, community and the health of our planet. The group has studied the design of regenerative cultures, drawing intently on Daniel Wahl’s work. We launched a series of “Potent Talks” to involve fellow Calgarians in discussion around a multiplicity of topics including:
community connectedness
the positive impact of including time in nature in our lives
regional economic transition
and so much more.

Through this work, Marilyn and the human potential group hope to contribute to a new narrative for our region, and forge strategies to reanimate our communities in a time of economic and social challenge.
Ultimately, the intention here is to encourage discussion and action around applying a regenerative process to our thinking in Alberta today.
In Marilyn's words - It is time to re-imagine what our world could be. What possibilities we can create together. How we organize ourselves and the communities in which we live. What will guide us in these ever-changing circumstances? How do I bring my best self forward to the task?
As we continue to convene and learn, we remind ourselves that we are a living experiment.
Welcome.
