The curmudgeon in the group, but the rest graciously tolerate her. It's because she is so often nudged outside her comfort zone. The advice she's heard, most recently from an Indigenous leader, is that when you're uncomfortable, it's an opportunity for learning. Her learning from this wonderful group of women has been prodigious! This is a very different world from the CPA practice she retired from several years ago. The learnings enrich her participation in the boards and committees on which she serves as a community volunteer, hoping to contribute to making the world a better place.
